I was born in California in 1958. During my infancy, there were many periods of near death trauma even to the point of my father throwing me into the air to restart my breathing. Perhaps these experiences set the stage for my paranormal experiences.
We moved back to Ohio and in 1961, I began talking to "unseen" people at a cemetery near our home. It was one of those old family plots that exist in the rural areas and my mother went one day after I spoke of the "woman and boy" I had told her of. There, almost illegible was the account of a woman and her son who died of plague in the early parts of the 1880's. I also interacted with what is now termed the "fey". Often they would visit me as well as the "pretty Lady with blue eyes and golden hair". On on occasion, this entity lead me through the wall of my bedroom and showed me the flowers and how they too were alive and it was not good just to pluck them to destroy them by removing their petals. My mother, hearing me converse with this person, came in and I promptly told her that she had "chased the Lady" away.
By age nine, I began to see "things" in the television set. It always occurred when it was off and as I later studied, actually was a form of scrying. The concave surface was excellent as a speculum. When informed of these oddities, my great aunt remarked " those who are blessed are always bothered " referring to a hip dysfunction that I have had since birth. It was openly acknowledged that the "power" or "gift" (as my great aunt termed it) had been passed to me through my mother.
At seventeen, I began to receive channeled info which frightened the daylights out of me. It is a terrifying thing to see pages of written text not in your own handwriting and remember nothing of it. Always having a spiritual bend, this led me to question the truthfulness of this and in 1979, I joined the Jehovah's Witnesses. While they have their errors, they do insist on Biblical knowledge and I am grateful for that.
Even though that sect forbids psychic studies, I would often sneak books into my home and study them carefully, adding to the hoard of info passed to me by my great aunt and mother. When in a car accident in 1983, a fellow Witness offered to go to my home and get clean clothes for me as mine was soiled and torn from the accident. Fear gripped me, for in my bedroom where the bed ought to be was inscribed a circle and I had been practicing magic there. When the man arrived with my clothes, I asked if anything was amiss in my home and he replied nope and the bed was even made.
Leaving the Witnesses in 1985, I promptly enrolled in the Church and School of Wicca correspondence course. I was curious to see if anything offered there tallied with the oral traditions offered by my family. While there was no correlation, it did prove interesting and I did glean some good things and some things I blatantly ignored.
Moving to Athens in 1988, I helped form a Circle and officiated as HP. My HPS was Lady Allyn and I took the name Aquillo ( disregarding the "Lord" as I viewed it as the utmost in pomposity and still do.) I left Circle within the year, having to return to Lancaster to care for my mother who was aging. This was a relief in disguise as I was also weary of the politics of the Circle, that being almost as bad as most churches in Christendom.
I rejoined the Witnesses in 1990 and promptly left them in 1995. My philosophies and beliefs no longer could abide a dogmatic single minded approach to the Divine. Notwithstanding, I did and still do view the Scriptures as being an excellent guide. I continued researching psychism and various belief systems in varying depths.
The late 1990's to the year 2004 was a vast maze. I cared for both ailing parents and tried to hold together a relationship which ultimately failed the same year that my parents died in. In 2005, I joined the Central Ohio Paranormal Society, not so much for the thrill of ghost hunting but to validate my own abilities. These not only achieved validation but I was quoted at some length in This Week during a case ( click here for the article ). Eventually, I joined both the Ohio Exploration Society whose founder I became friends with and Ohio Paranormal, which was founded earlier by my very good friend.
My desire has been and will always be to help and assist others in my life. I do not believe that any psychic, clairvoyant, channeller, metaphysician or anyone else has total success nor all the answers. We are but only guideposts pointing to a hazy outline in the muddle we call life. If the Divine uses me to direct someone, causes them to pause and reflect and perhaps changes their life for the better, then it is not my will, but the Divine's and it is not by my power, but by the Divine's.
